Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher and Reflexologist with over 10 years experience.

RYT, Registered Yoga Teacher, Anusara trained, and Personal Trainer with over 5 years experience.

Lorel grew up surrounded by the tall pines of Flagstaff, Arizona. From that environment sprang an interest to help people lead active and balanced lives through natural health and body therapies. After years of research, education, exploration and hands-on work, Lorel’s passion intensified to help people heal from a variety of conditions – from injured athletes and trauma survivors, to those with chronic pain or anxiety. Working with people of all ages, from infants to age 95, has given her a wealth of knowledge and education.

Sports have also played a profound role in her passion to help others. From triathlons and bodybuilding to mixed martial arts – competitive sports launched her education in injury prevention and treatment, pain management and natural forms of healing.

Lorel has been honored for her advocacy contributions in the community which are an outgrowth of surviving violent trauma, receiving Governor Napolitano’s Triumph Over Tragedy Award in 2006. Her principles of mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wholeness now enable her to help heal those overcoming injury of all kinds.

As a local and national public speaker on topics such as Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Workplace Violence, Health, Wellness and Building A Balanced Life, Lorel’s work has been seen on local news channels, ABC World News Tonight, Redbook Magazine, Fortune Magazine and several national newsletters.

An Interview with Lorel

What services do you provide at Healing House?

Massage Therapy, Reiki, Reflexology, Cranial-Sacral, Shaman Work, Injury/Rehabilitative Work, Stretch Therapy, Office Assistance, & Overall Smile Producer & Jokester

What makes your approach to what you do different and unique?

I have a strong understand of anatomy, physiology, pathology, & the impacts of mental, emotional & environmental impacts of stress on the physical body. I have a keen sense for what is out of balance in someone’s system & how to partner with them to create a better balance in the body, mind & spirit. Because I have such a large set of tools, education, real world experience & modalities to choose from, I can easily customize a protocol of care for someone’s unique needs.

How long have you been doing what you do?

Massage for 8 years, Reiki & Reflexology for 11 years.

Where did you get your training, and what fancy titles and licenses do you hold?

LMT is from The Arizona School of Massage Therapy, RMT is from private Reiki Master Teachers, and RYT is completing Yoga Village’s Yoga Teacher Training 200 hour program.

Why do you do what you do?

I’ve lived through years of violent trauma, multiple surgeries, chronic pain, anxiety, PTSD coupled with 15 years of single parenting, corporate ladder work, competing in multiple sports and life in general. I understand what it’s like to feel helpless, hopeless, broken, in immense pain, and lost in every way I had to learn how to rebuild myself and stay true to finding what kind of ‘medicine’ or help was going to benefit me the most. Teaching and partnering with clients in their quest for health and wholeness is my way of passing that education on to others so that their path is not so difficult or long.

What is your burning passion in life?

To leave behind a legacy for my family & community better than what I inherited. To leave behind a footprint in the earth where it’s evident that a life of healing, peace, love & compassion was stamped into in.

What is your secret to success?

Deep understanding, compassion & the dedication to exceeding expectations. Caring enough to strive to make a difference.

What kind of animal would you be if you could be one?

Is a dolphin a mammal or fish??? Cuz I’d like to be a dolphin if possible, please.

What kind of super/mutant power would you choose?

One touch magic healing hand J

What’s one thing no one knows about you?

That’s tough, I’m kinda an open book with almost everyone…

I have pretty intense car passenger seat anxiety. And I have a ‘professional woman’ crush on Melissa McCarthy, she’s awesome!
